The Things I'd do

 A quick poem I wrote dedicated to someone important to me. She's one of the most important people in my life, and I consider her as my inspiration. She also made the title for this work, so here's to you...

I'd like to be someone to you

like you have been to me;

I'd like to be the person that

you'll always be glad to see;

I'd like to be the person who

brightens each minute of all your days;

I'd like to show you how much I care

In truly different ways.

I'd like to do the big things and

the special things for you,

And shoo the clouds out of your skies

and leave them only blue;

I'd like to tell you kindly things that

You may not have heard,

And somehow I could raise your soul

the way mine  was stirred.

I'd like to give you back the joy

that you have given me,

And that somehow wish for you

to be happy as can be;

I'd like to show you how I feel as I

who travel on

Unafraid of the darkness with you to

lean upon.

I wish somehow that I could

make you smile everyday

Or share a portion of the gladness that

you've shown me along my way;

And if I could have one wish this year,

that wish would only be:

I'd like to be the sort of friend

that you have been to me.
